Inspekt Lens

Download .md

Inspekt Lens is the browser extension and Pro Studio. On the marketplace sites it supports, the extension draws our render of each listed item over the listing, shows an item's front and back in high quality, shows the listings you pick side by side, and links every listing to the item in our 3D studio. A Lens subscription also opens Pro Studio on inspekt.gg, where you set the lighting, pose and background (your own picture or video, with blur) and capture a clean picture of your skin. Lens is $5 a month for 5,000 renders, with the key from your dashboard.

Install

Pick the store for your browser. A store's button becomes a link when its listing opens.

After you install it, set it up as under Set up.

The Lens plan

Lens is a plan for one person browsing marketplaces. It costs $5 a month, includes 5,000 renders in each billing period, and starts with the same 10-day free trial as every plan, which needs no card. It is used through your account's secret key, which the dashboard calls the extension key on a Lens account.

Lens also includes Pro Studio on this site, with studio lighting, exact posing, your own backgrounds and captures up to 4K, and 3 cinematic renders a day instead of 1.

Lens includes renders and the 3D viewer, through the secret key. A Lens key sent to the Inventory API is refused with HTTP 402 and the code not_in_plan, and so is the account's publishable key or a token on a render or a lookup, whatever websites the account registered before a trial or on an earlier plan. The publishable key and tokens open the 3D viewer from CSFloat, tradeit.gg, DMarket and Market.CSGO pages and from no other website: the extension's 3D window uses a token it makes from your secret key, and each window it opens counts as one of the 5,000 embed loads in each billing period. A refusal is not counted. Hobby and Pro include all three, and every part of the extension works with their secret key, the 3D window included, counting against their quotas. See Pricing and Limits & SLA.

Your key

Inspekt Lens takes your account's secret key (cs2sk_) and no other key, on any paid plan: Hobby, Pro, Enterprise, Lens or a free trial. With it you get every part of the extension: the pictures, HQ, Compare and the 3D window. Copy it from the Keys tab of your dashboard. The popup refuses a publishable key (cs2pk_) or a token and asks for the secret key.

On a Lens account the key is the extension key, the account's secret key. It works only in the Inspekt Lens extension. Paste it into the extension's popup; it does not work in your own code or on your site. A request that does not come from the extension is refused with HTTP 403 and the code extension_only, and is not counted. For the Render API or the embed, pick Hobby or Pro.

  1. Install the extension, as under Install.
  2. Paste the key into the popup under Render key and press Save.

A Lens account is limited to 240 renders and 3D views a minute, which is more than one person browsing asks for. Past that the answer is HTTP 429 with a Retry-After, and the popup says when it resumes. A Business plan's secret key gets every part of the Inspekt Lens extension, and counts against that plan's quotas.

Set up

  1. Install Inspekt Lens from your browser's store, as under Install (Chrome 121 or later, Firefox 128 or later).
  2. Pin it: open the extensions menu (the puzzle piece) in your browser's toolbar and pin Inspekt Lens, so its popup is one click away.
  3. In the dashboard, on any paid plan or a free trial, open the Keys tab and create your secret key; on Lens the button is Create the extension key. Copy the key. The dashboard shows it once.
  4. Open the Inspekt Lens popup, paste the key under Render key and press Save. The popup shows the key's first characters and says the pictures are kept on this computer for 24 hours.
  5. Turn on Render grid pictures. It starts off, because each picture counts as a render.

Rotating the key in the dashboard retires the old one at once. Paste the new key into the popup and the pictures come back.

Supported sites

Inspekt Lens works on these sites today:

On any other site the extension stays out of the page.

What a render costs

Each picture the extension asks us for counts as one render toward the plan's 5,000 a month, including a picture we answer from our own cache. The extension keeps each picture on your computer for 24 hours, so scrolling back to a listing or reloading the page within a day shows it from there without a request to us. Only listings in view are rendered.

The popup's session cap, 300 requests by default, stops the extension after that many requests in one browser session. Raise it in the popup to send more. When the month's renders are spent, requests are refused with 429 and quota_exceeded until the billing period resets, and the popup says the extension is paused.

HQ front and back

On an item's own view (a CSFloat listing, or a tradeit.gg details popup), an HQ button sits beside the 3D button. It opens the item's front and back at 1200 × 630, the size of our share images, in a window over the page, drawn over the marketplace's own listing window. Switch sides with the two tabs or the arrow keys, and close it with Esc, the close button or a click outside the pictures; the page does not scroll while it is open. Each side is one render, and both are kept on your computer for 24 hours like any other picture. To see several items in HQ at once, compare them and re-render the comparison in HQ (below).

Compare

On CSFloat's market and a seller's stall, and on tradeit.gg's store and trade grids, a Compare button sits at the top centre of the page. The popup's Compare button position moves it to the top or bottom and the left, centre or right, and Compare this page does the same as the button. Pick the listings you want, press Compare, and they fill the screen side by side.

  1. Pick the listings. Click a listing's picture to pick it, or press Space on it; click again to put it back. Each pick shows its number, and a bar at the foot of the screen counts them, up to 12. First 12 picks the first twelve on the page and Clear starts again. Your picks stay while you move to another page of results, so they can come from several pages. Esc or Done stops picking and keeps them. A tradeit.gg stack shows Stack and cannot be picked. Open the stack on tradeit.gg and pick one of its items.
  2. Compare. The comparison opens over the page with every item's picture in the front view, as large as your screen allows, labelled with its name, price, float, pattern and its Doppler phase, fade or blue percentage. Each picture shows as it arrives; one that could not be drawn says why and offers Retry.
  3. Change the view. Front, back, hero or top. Each view you open draws the items in it, one render each, less any already on your computer. Sort them by price, float, pattern, fade or blue percentage, or keep the order you picked them in.
  4. Re-render in HQ. Pick items in the comparison with a click or Space, or take them all, and press Re-render HQ. Before anything is drawn it says what one HQ picture counts and what the batch uses, and it will not start a batch your session cap or the month's renders would refuse. HQ is offered when your key can ask for pictures larger than 1600 px, which count by area as the Render API describes: a 2560 × 1344 picture counts two renders.
  5. View in 3D. Pick 1 to 3 items and press View in 3D. Each opens in our 3D viewer side by side, filling the screen, under the game's inspect light. One set of controls turns them all to the front, back, hero or top view, resets them or spins them; drag any one to turn it. Grid or Esc goes back to the pictures. Each item opened in 3D counts as one embed load, as the 3D button does.

Esc closes a step at a time: the HQ question, then 3D, then the comparison. The arrow keys move between items and Tab stays inside the comparison. With the secret key, Save picture saves the items on screen as one PNG. The comparison renders after the listings on the page, so the page keeps filling while it runs. Prices are the ones the sites list, in US dollars.

Every listing the extension recognises gets an Inspekt 3D button: on CSFloat at the end of the wear line, on tradeit.gg in the picture's corner, and beside each Inspect link on an item's own view. A click opens the item in our 3D viewer in a window over the page, at its float, pattern seed, stickers, charm and StatTrak count, with a link that opens it in our studio. Each item opened there counts as one embed load a day; on Lens, of the 5,000 in each billing period. With Opens set to New tab in the popup, with a Ctrl-, Shift- or middle-click, and before you have pasted a key, the button opens the item in our studio in a new tab instead, which counts no embed load. Hover it for anything the 3D view leaves out. To see up to three items in 3D side by side, compare them (above).

Privacy

What we keep about each request is in the Privacy Policy: a usage record against your account for each render, as for every key.

When it stops

The popup shows the extension's state. Stopped means the server refused the key: plan_required when the free trial or the subscription has ended, and key_unknown after the key was rotated or revoked. Paste a working key or pick a plan, then press Retry now. Paused means a 429: the requests-per-second limit, which clears in seconds, or the month's quota. Every code is on Error codes.

Independence

Inspekt Lens and inspekt.gg are independent. They are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by CSFloat, tradeit.gg or any other site the extension runs on. A render shown through the extension is for your own viewing while you browse; the Terms say how it may be used.
