Refunds and Cancellation

How refunds, cancellation and plan changes work for an Inspekt subscription.

Summary. We do not refund a billing period already started, and we do refund our own billing errors. Cancel at any time in the billing portal and keep access until the paid period ends. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.

1. Subscription fees

1.1 A paid plan is billed monthly in advance. Each payment covers the plan’s quota and features for the billing period that follows it and is the whole of what the plan costs. A quota is a hard cap, and requests past it are refused (Terms 5.2).

1.2 There are no usage charges. No plan is billed per request or per unit, so the only charge on an invoice is the monthly fee in Terms 5.1. An Enterprise account is billed as its agreement sets out.

1.3 There is no free plan. An account without a plan is served nothing and owes nothing (Terms 5.7).

2. Refunds

2.1 We do not refund subscription fees for a billing period that has begun, in whole or in part. That includes a period you cancel partway through, a period in which you used less than your quota, and a period in which you did not use the service at all.

2.2 We refund our own billing errors. If you were charged twice for the same period, charged after a cancellation took effect, or charged for the wrong plan, tell us and we will refund the difference. This refund is not discretionary.

2.3 Downtime is not refunded in cash. If we miss the uptime commitment, the remedy is a service credit under the SLA, applied against a future invoice, as set out in Terms 7.2 and SLA section 8.

2.4 Termination for cause. If we end your account because of a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or of Terms section 3, fees already paid are not refunded. If you end the agreement because we materially breached it and did not cure the breach under Terms 10.3, we refund the unused part of the current period.

2.5 Any other refund is at our discretion.

2.6 A plan bought from 26 October 2026 is sold through Link, Stripe's reseller. For such a plan you can also ask Link support for a refund. Stripe may refund it within 60 days of the payment in some cases, and gives any cooling-off period the law where you live requires. Those refunds apply even where 2.1 says we would not refund.

3. Cancellation

3.1 Cancel from the dashboard, which opens our payment processor’s billing portal. No email, notice period or call is needed.

3.2 A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then the account stays as it is, with the same quota, the same keys and the same embeds on your site.

3.3 At the end of that period the account is left with no plan and your keys stop serving. Requests are refused with HTTP 402 and the code plan_required (Terms 5.7), so embeds on your pages show a refusal card from then on. The account is not deleted. Its key, registered origins and usage history remain, and choosing a plan restores service on the next request.

3.4 To delete the account and its data, see Privacy section 8.

4. Plan changes

4.1 Upgrades take effect immediately. Our payment processor prorates the change: you are charged for the remainder of the period at the difference between the two plans, and the higher quota applies at once.

4.2 Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period, and so does a cancellation. You keep the higher plan for the period you paid for, and there is no partial refund for the difference. A pending change is shown in the dashboard and can be reversed before it takes effect.

4.3 This matches Terms 5.4.

5. Failed payments

5.1 If a payment fails, our payment processor retries it and emails you. Retries run for 14 days from the first failed charge, and your plan and keys work as normal throughout.

5.2 If the charge is still unpaid after the last retry, the subscription ends and the account is left with no plan, so its keys stop serving under 3.3. Terms 6.4 also allows us to suspend an account more than 15 days past due, after notifying your account contact.

6. Billing disputes and chargebacks

6.1 Email hello@inspekt.gg with the invoice date and the problem. Raise it within 30 days of the invoice date, under Terms 6.5.

6.2 We keep a usage record per key and will show it to you. It holds counts of embed loads, renders and inventory lookups, per key and per month, for as long as Privacy 6 states. Invoices are not calculated from it, because a plan is billed at its monthly fee only. We use it to answer billing disputes, and if it does not support an amount you were charged, section 2.2 applies.

6.3 Please contact us before filing a chargeback. If the charge is one we would refund, an email gets you the money faster. We may suspend an account with an open chargeback until it is resolved.

7. Contact

Send billing questions, refund requests and requests for invoice copies to hello@inspekt.gg. First response follows the targets in Terms 8.2: one business day on Pro and Enterprise, and two on Hobby.
